Want to do more than volunteer?

Our farms offer a rare opportunity for hands-on learning and mentoring about all aspects of certified organic farming in Central Texas through our Workshare program.

Workshare Members are at the heart of our farm.

They are an amazing group of people. Each week, they commit to at least four hours of work. And because of this commitment, we are able to mentor our workshares and tailor tasks to their interests. Many of our workshare members have gone on to start their own farms and/or play a leading role in the local food movement. In addition to mentorship, workshares receive full weekly shares of freshly harvested vegetables or flowers, as available.

Positions are available for both of our farms, Monday thru Saturday mornings and vary from field work, to administrative, and community oriented.

How much work do you do as a Workshare member?
Workshare members commit to working 4-6 hours per week during the growing season.

What kind of work will I be doing as a Workshare member?
We do our best to keep your work varied. You may spend some time planting in the greenhouse and fields, harvesting and processing vegetables, preparing the member shares for pick up, and/or setting up the farm stand. It all depends upon what the farm needs. If you are an Administrative Workshare, you may be organizing a fundraiser or coordinating with one of our community partners or other tasks.

What kind of veggies are in the free vegetable share?
Workshare members have access to “seconds” (imperfect, yet still edible vegetables – this is what farmers eat.) and bumper crop excess. We're happy to provide additional quantities, as available.

How do I become a Workshare member?
Workshare members are selected after volunteering at the farm to ensure that both you and the farm are a good fit. We look forward to discussing opportunities with you!
