Celebrate! All ages are welcome to party, eat, and play games on their special day at the farm.

Party with a Purpose

When you choose to have your event here, you are helping to make our neighborhood healthier. Several years ago, we created New Farm Institute, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, to fund our educational outreach efforts. And a portion of your farm rental payment will be donated to our Farm Camp scholarship fund that allows neighborhood children to participate in our popular environmental and farming programs. Thank you for your support.

What’s Included

Our standard rate for a 3-hour party is $330, with a $100 deposit.

You and your guests are welcome to explore all of the farm, including the farm stand, Big Red Barn, vegetable fields, livestock areas, and Children’s Garden, which includes:

  • Cedar picnic tables (5 tables that are 7′ long, each seats 8)
  • Sandbox
  • Benches
  • Folding tables
  • Treehouses
  • Quilts
  • Glider
  • Chalkboards
  • Wagons/wheelbarrows for un/loading
  • Hay-bales*
  • Tractor for photos*
  • Free, easy parking for 100+ cars
  • *Rented hay bales for seating or decoration must be requested in advance and must be set-up/returned to barn by party. $10 fee for each damaged bale. **Tractor is available when not in use.

Venue Features

Can I barbecue?
Yes! If you or a caterer would like to prepare food at the farm you must provide us with a liability insurance certificate naming Green Gate Farms as insured.

What if it rains?
We are an outdoor location and rain on the day of, or even the day before your party, can be a spoiler. If there is bad weather in the forecast, we’ll discuss options — like having the party in the hayloft* of the Big Red Barn or choosing another day that works well for you. You are also welcome to rent a tent as a hedge against the weather.

What about food?
We do not have prepared foods for sale but we do appreciate you or your caterer purchasing our veggies, eggs, honey and other goodies for your party. You may bring your own food or hire caterers. Some guests have even had Amy’s Ice Cream and food trucks on hand. Our livestock and compost piles will happily take care of leftovers for you.

What about decorations?
You are welcome to bring tablecloths, balloons, party favors and eating utensils. To protect our animals and the environment, we encourage you to use sustainable materials and to thoroughly clean up at the end of your party. You can compost your food waste at the farm or feed it to the livestock (please check with farmer so we can show you how it works). Failure to properly clean the area will result in a $50 clean-up fee charged to your credit card at the end of your party. Thank you for your cooperation.

How long is a party?
Birthday parties are 3 hours long. You may arrive 30 minutes prior to set-up, and you will have 30 minutes after your event to clean-up.

Do you offer any guided party activities?
Yes!
Farmer-led Farm Tour: free for 15 Birthday Guests; $10 for each additional guest
Animal Love: Farmer-led time to learn/play with selected livestock (including chickens/chicks, bunnies, a pony, goats, pigs, etc) $50.
Farmer Talk: Brief presentation and Q&A by professional farmer on a topic of your choice, $30.
