When I was a girl nothing thrilled me more than spying on the weddings my father performed. As a preacher’s kid I lived next to the church so I was an uninvited guest to many a special event.
Maybe that’s why I am so tickled whenever I get to create a bouquet for a bride….
and her groom. Who can resist a bluebonnet, bay and rosemary (for remembrance) on a lapel?
The gift of this cold, blustery, hail-filled spring has been a sweep of wildflowers. Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush, Flax, Spiderwort are claiming every inch that isn’t cultivated at our River Farm. And speaking of cultivating, I’m way behind. Zinnias, sunflowers, Ammi, Celosia,…yes, they are coming, but not as quickly as they have in the past.
That’s why our early Flower CSA members received wildflower bundles this week. Be sure to reserve your bouquet.
Current members, add a Flower CSA to your current subscription by logging into your online account or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There’s no telling what will come your way.
