2 slices bacon
1 onion, chopped
6-5 lbs fresh turnip greens
1.5 cup water
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt

Cook bacon in skillet. Remove, drain on paper towels. Remove all but 1 Tb of fat from skillet. Add onion and cook for five minutes until tender. Set aside. Wash greens, tear bite-size pieces from stem. Place in large pot with water, sugar, and salt. Boil over high heat, then reduce to low. Simmer for 15-20 minutes. Break bacon into pieces. Remove greens, mix with bacon and onion. Serve.
