“Best Place to See Your Food Grow,” Green Gate Farms’ Farm Camp

Austin Chronicle, Critic’s Choice, 2010

Our farm camps are for children and adults who want to learn and participate in the inner workings of a certified organic diversified farm.

Whether you attend a morning or weeklong camp, activities include: a behind-the-scenes tour of the farm, learning about composting, planting and harvesting; touring the greenhouse, understanding the importance of (and handling) heritage livestock, as well as plenty of time to relax and enjoy the farm.

Farm Camp for Adults

Why should kids have all the fun? If you daydream about having a farm or you’ve got land and you’re not sure how to make it productive, then this camp is for you.

Spend Sunday morning beside the farmers who founded Green Gate Farms.  Get a behind-the-scenes look at livestock management, organic vegetable production, composting, irrigation. And meet others who share your dreams.

In addition, we tailor camps to special interests, including school gardeners, nutritionists, culinary professionals, homeschoolers, and other groups (10 participants minimum).
